Sunday, June 11th And we're off! We had a wet start with a rain storm giving us a slight hold up. Good thing a lot of the students were early and managed to stay dry while loading! We had a surprise in the music room--the rain was coming down so hard it decided it would come inside our room as well! Good thing we were still there to help mop it up! :) Get ready Chicago---here we come!

We had a relaxing morning with a great breakfast. The choir students rehearsed on our bus ride and are really excited to perform in two days. The band had a great performance at Six Flags, and we spent the rest of the day taking in the water park, thrilling rides, tame rides, and eating delicious theme park food! We left the park at 8 PM, pretty worn out and toasty from a hot day outside, and enjoyed some pizza back at the hotel. Now it's off to bed so we can get a good night's rest before another full day tomorrow! By the way, by the count of my Fitbit, I got in 19,000 steps...lots of miles traveled around the park!

We were all a little tired today. Being in the sun all day yesterday wore us out, but nonetheless we kept trekking on our full day ahead. We started our day with a visit to the Willis (Sears) tower. Some of us were even brave enough to step out on the ledge! From our birds-eye view, we could see most of the city and enjoyed picking out the buildings we were going to visit over the next two days. From. There we headed to Buckingham Fountain for a few minutes and snapped some. Pictures. Then we went. To Millenium Park and. Enjoyed seeing the. Famous "Bean""
Wednesday, June 14th We finished up our trip with some delicious deep-dish Gino's Pizza & Aladdin the musical. Great experiences!
Thursday, June 15th
We are currently en route to Sioux Falls (will be getting there in a couple of hours) to grab a quick breakfast, then we'll be heading back to school. It's been a great trip. Linda, our bus driver for the week, told us last night that we have been the best group she has ever worked with. She really appreciate how clean the students kept our bus, but most of all, how they greeted. her with kindness, looked her in the eye and smiled when they got on and off the bus, and overall had good attitudes. Parents & community members, thank you for your help in raising our kids! Their Midwestern manners definitely showed and made an impact. We. are all very exhausted, have some fun souvenirs, some sunburns, and hopefully some great memories to come home with! THANK YOU to he community and parents for helping us raise money for our trip and for helping us make this opportunity possible to our students!
